The Color Network Residency at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts
The Color Network is pleased to announce our fifth artist residency with the support and partnership of Watershed Center for Ceramic Arts and the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation.
This September 2026, from our mentorship program will gather in person for a two-and-half week residency at Watershed’s newly renovated 54-acre campus in Edgecomb, Maine. The residency will be facilitated by one of the co-organizers from The Color Network as well as Watershed’s dedicated staff. The session will be funded in part by a $25,000 grant from the Maxwell/Hanrahan Foundation
The residency will take place at Watershed Center for the Ceramic Arts from September 2-18, 2026.
ELIGIBILITY
Any artist who has signed up for the TCN Mentorship program (as a mentor or mentee) by the time their residency application is submitted is eligible to apply, whether or not you have yet been paired with a mentor. Applicants may apply as individuals or mentor-mentee pairs. Applications will be prioritized as follows: Mentor-mentee pairs, Individual Mentors, and Individual Mentees. Priority will be given to applicants who have not yet had the opportunity to participate in a prior TCN + Watershed mentor-mentee residency. International applicants are eligible to apply pending visa and/or entry requirements into the United States.
Artists must be comfortable working independently in a clay studio. Formal instruction is NOT provided at Watershed.
FINANCIAL INFORMATION
Application is free. Residency fees are covered (including housing and meals Sun - Fri). Each participant will receive a material stipend including 100lbs of Watershed stocked clay. Residents are able to purchase additional materials. Firing costs will be covered in total, with the exception of the wood kiln. Travel will be reimbursed up to $500 USD per person.
DATES AND DEADLINES
Application period is from April 15 to May 15 at 11:59pm EST. Late applications will not be accepted.

If you are applying with your mentor/mentee, please complete ONE application for your mentorship pair.
1) IMAGES OF YOUR WORK
Five (5) images of your work. Images must be .jpg or .jpeg, maximum 1MB per file, smallest side 1000 pixels, 300 dpi. Files should be named as follows: "LastName_FirstName_Title.jpg". (10 images - 5 each, if you are applying as a mentorship pair)
2) STATEMENT OF INTEREST & IMAGE LIST
Upload the following support material in a single PDF. If applying as a mentor-mentee pair, each individual should submit a PDF labelled "LastName_FirstName_Statement and Image List.pdf"
1. Statement of Interest: Please explain how this residency would benefit your creative practice. (200 words maximum).
2. Image List: Identify the title, materials, dimensions, and year for each image in your Portfolio.
